Kentish Farm House

Internal and External Refurbishment

We have recently finished work to a farm house set in a beautifully secluded location near Mersham.

The house was stripped out in entirety, with new plumbing and electric installation through out, new bathrooms and kitchen as well as repairs and complete re-decoration. Externally, repairs to the brickwork and timber elements, as well as complete external redecoration, have revitalised this listed building. Now in combination with it’s undeniable character, the house also has the modern fixtures and fittings that we have come to expect and rely on.

The inglenook, a common feature in houses of this age and size, was re-pointed as part of the internal refurbishment.

Complete internal redecoration throughout the house has given a new lease of life to the property.

Properties of this nature often have features and character that is hard to find or match in modern properties

Here at Charlier Construction, we have been lucky enough to have completed a large number of similar projects to farm houses all over Kent. There are a number of common problems we encounter. Lack of up to date plumbing and electrics, structural faults, which are unsurprising given the age of the properties, as well as damp being the most common. We have long standing relationships with the necessary specialists in these areas to be able to come up with solutions to mitigate these issues when encountered.
